About the AP® Annual Conference 2012
The AP® Annual Conference is the largest gathering of Advanced Placement Program® (AP) and Pre-AP® communities from across the United States and throughout the world. The conference features four days of workshops, panel discussions, presentations and exhibits focused on professional development, information and resources for AP teachers, AP Coordinators, administrators, middle school teachers and counselors.
The College Board’s AP Program is a rigorous academic program built on the passion, dedication and commitment of a community of students and educators from around the world. For more than 55 years, it has fostered collaboration among college faculty and AP teachers to prepare students for college success and advance academic excellence in high schools. In May 2011, nearly 2 million students representing more than 18,000 schools around the world, both public and nonpublic, took 3.4 million AP Exams across the 34 subjects. Additionally, more than 3,600 institutions worldwide annually receive AP scores.
For both the AP teachers who create the more than 130,000 course syllabi and the middle school teachers who join them in making up the AP community, professional development is a vital aspect of their continuing efforts to provide their students with the very best AP experience. For this reason, more than 3,300 members of the community attended the 2011 AP Annual Conference in San Francisco. This year’s conference in Lake Buena Vista, FL will expand upon the exciting advances in AP which include the 2012-13 academic year course revisions to AP Biology, AP Latin, and AP Spanish Literature and Culture.
The sponsorship and exhibitor packages described in this prospectus provide expanded opportunities for organizations to showcase their products and services at AP Annual Conference 2012. Please join us in Lake Buena Vista as we continue our work to develop a new generation of AP teachers and support them in their efforts to place their students on the path to college and the great opportunities beyond.
